As a small business open in Phoenix for nearly a decade, Midnight Publishing’s staff is really passionate about our local writing community, and we always want to spread the word about literary events. We especially love Arizona during the holidays, since the weather cools down (we can actually wear a long-sleeved shirt!), and lots of special opportunities are scheduled at some of our favorite bookstores in Phoenix, like Changing Hands, The Poisoned Pen and the Bookshop. If you’re a local writer and reader (and if you’re an author, you should definitely be an avid reader—Stephen King says so in On Writing), then take a look at some of our staff’s favorite local literary events this November and December! And as always, if you’re currently in the process of writing a book and want a professional set of editing eyes, contact us anytime for a free sample. We’d love to polish your manuscript to book-worthy levels, because who knows—maybe you’ll be the next author hosting a book signing we can tell the world about! Here’re Midnight Publishing’s favorite upcoming events that celebrate books and the authors who write them:

Author Walk at the Chandler Art Walk

When: November 18th, 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Where: Dr. A.J. Chandler Park (3 S. Arizona Ave. Chandler, Arizona 85225)

What: This free monthly art walk in Chandler, Arizona happens every third Friday, with the annual addition of local authors in attendance. Representing genres ranging from sci-fi to romance and historical fiction, these authors will have paperbacks available for signing. Also, many of the local bars along the Art Walk have created literarily-themed drinks in honor of the authors! Come, have a beverage, and talk with some like-minded writers about their publishing experience while supporting the Phoenix-based literary scene. Want more info? Here’s the Facebook page!
